This email is to invite you to participate in a relicensing kick-off meeting for PG&E's Merced Falls Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 2467 (Project). The Project is located on the Merced River in Merced and Mariposa Counties, immediately downstream of Merced Irrigation District's McSwain Reservoir. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) operating license for the Project expires on February 28, 2014, and a new license application must be filed with FERC by February 28, 2012. To start relicensing activities, PG&E must prepare and file a Pre-Application Document (PAD) and a Notice of Intent (NOI) to relicense the Project no later than February 28, 2009.
The meeting will be held on November 3, 2008 to acquaint interested parties with FERC's Integrated Licensing Process (ILP) that PG&E will be using to relicense the Project. At the meeting PG&E will discuss Project operations and relicensing issues. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for the resource agencies and public to identify issues which they believe should be addressed as part of relicensing the Project.
Two meetings will be held with identical agendas to allow the maximum participation by resource agency personnel and members of the public. The meeting arrangements are as follows
